Legislative & Regulatory Affairs Committee
LARAC monitors and alerts members of legislative and regulatory activities and recommends action to minimize any negative impacts on the industry. This can be maintaining a liaison with agencies, serving on various agency / industry committees, providing comments on specific issues, or providing guidance to GPA or individual companies as appropriate. LARAC supervises two standing subcommittees and two advisory groups. Specific areas of each:
Standing Subcommittees:
Federal Issues Subcommittee
Responsible for issues affecting NGL operations and economics, particularly the regulations and interpretations of the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Targeted State Advocacy Subcommittee (TSASC)
Identify and discuss current and potential legislative issues in targeted states and decide what, if any, response is needed. The states the group will focus on are Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming.
